C2D/P5B wall

the C2D I have right now runs peachy at 333fsb*9 with no problems but when I bump it up to 401*8 it craps out
not right away but it will crap out with a BSOD and windows shutting down to prevent hardware failure.

I am running the ram at 1.9v with 5-5-5-5-12 timings. if I try to bump the timings up to 6-6-6-6-15 it won't even post. I have teh voltage at 1.9v for now and it is in the bios to run at 1:1 ratio

the CPU has everything disabled other then cpu unlock.
vcore at 1.4v
FSB at 1.3

PSU is an antech coolmaster 2.0 or something like that with 500w. the only thing being power is the MB,CPU, an 8.4GB HD, DVD burner, hte radeon 9250 and one stock intell CPU fan. so I don't think the psu should be overloading.

when I run a ram stress test it seems to do ok but the moment I start up prime, seti or something else like that you know it is only a matter of time.
the cpu is still on the stock cooler and running at around 53-54*C under full load but has crashed a few times at 51*C

when everything was mostly stock speeds it was running around 53-55*C during break in and no problems at all.

any ideas guys? I wouldn't mind breaking into this 3.2GHZ stable range :-)

which voltage are you refaring to? NB, SB, FSB, or ICH. what is the ICH?

with the centon ram I understand it is a cheap ram. it was one of those hold me off's till I can get some corsiar sticks but how high should I be able to clock this? also any idea how high the voltage can go on the centon ram?

1.40 for a 400fsb?

I think you're way off.......for 400fsb between 1.50 and 1.60 is the recommended and from what I've seen. It's never been below that for the 400fsb.

I will try that when I get home. part of the reason I didn't try upping the FSB from 1.3v was the "uh that's red that means no good right?" but I will give it a go and see how it works. as far as the NB and ICH I have those on auto right now. what should those be set to or would those not be a problem

on the vcore woudl the 1.4v be enough or might I even be able to lower it down to 1.3875

any other tweaks I might be able to try?

Take a look at this thread, maybe it'll give you a better example: Link Here. There is also this thread: Link Here, look around and see what other people are getting with theirs.

think the problem is with my ram not liking the overclock much. finallh got a few BSOD and wrote down the info tonight.
most the time it is a Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area (0xe3453f2a,0x00000001,0x80571360,0x00000002)
though I did get one that was kernal related but I think that was my fault.

so right now I am running at 370*9 doing a 32M superpi with F@H going on in the background and things are peachy

I've tried memory voltage up to 2.1 on these chips but not sure how much higher I can go as they are without any kind of heat spreader and with the computer being fully caseless right now I'm sure that isn't helping much either as far as heat. what would you guys say about running it on 2.2-2.3v on this lower end centon ram?
