Hey guys,

I'm looking for some advice on purchasing a jigsaw. My budget is right around $45. From the research I've done it seems that there are 3 that stand out:
1) Black & Decker JS700K - $43.90
2) Skil 4395-01 - $40.93
3) Black & Decker JS660 - $34.98

Note: Amazon has $10 off $50 for the B&D and Skil power tools.

I plan on using Bosch U118A blades for case modding and Bosch U234X blades for some wood work that I need to do. Some of my immediate projects involve cutting 3/4" MDF. Which jigsaw would you guys go with and why?

Thanks for the quick reply, +rep. I just wanted to add that I'll be making my purchase tonight.

I'd say Skil is better than B&D, but I personally wouldn't buy either. I have almost exclusively Bosch tools and they're fun to use.

Note: Skil is actually owned by Bosch as their el-cheapo brand.

I bought a cheap 40 dollar B&D jigsaw and I have to re-tighten the screws holding the guide on it every 20-30 minutes of use. Sadly you get what you pay for with power tools.

Sure I would like to get higher quality tools but at this point in my life I can't justify it (college loans, college loans, and did I mention more college loans?).

I'll go ahead and purchase the Skil. Thanks to all who posted.
