But, but....not all fan controllers require a 5.25" bay. lol.

In all seriousness, would be way easier with less fans, lol. 9 is a lot for a motherboard.

I just solder the red wire to the 5v on a molex, and the ground to a ground, works great

would connecting the 7v modded molex to one of these would still work (assuming 4 fans are plugged in)
would all four fans be 7v?

I don't know much about electricity, but I do know how to follow directions and solder thumb.gif

No, you have to mod the adapter as well, otherwise its useless, just an open connection. Leave the +12v line where it is, and move the ground to +5. Just an FYI.... If you do decide to run your fans using an adapter, there will be some voltage drop, so most likely won't get 7v... more like 6v.

He's talking about attaching it to a modified Molex adapter which connects the 12v to 12v and the 0v on the out side to 5v so you can just connect fans directly to it. It's on page one. Connecting that connector to the adapter would give you around 7v on all the fans.

I'm not sure if everyone understands me...

If I did this...

would all 4 fans be 7v?

That would work to give the fans 7V (though your wiring diagram is slightly off smile.gif )

But even easier, see if you just got the adapter that you linked to, and moved the black ground wire to the 5V pin connection, it would give you your 7V without the extra adapter. smile.gif
