A good pair of headphones

Thread Starter
I'm planning on buying a pair of headphones because my previous ones mysteriously stopped working. I'd be grateful if you could suggest me one; preferably if it has a mic that I'd be able to talk into (to use on skype, etc)

What kind of headphones are you looking for? Earbuds, wireless, high-end, gaming? What is your budget and what are you going to be using them with and for mainly?

I'm looking for some over-the-ear style, with a way to plug it into a computer via usb, jacks, etc. The budget is I'm not too sure but I'd like it to be under 120, preferably under 100 but I'll do 120 if it's worth it. I'll be using it for gaming and music but nothing professional like.

Try asking on Head-Fi. I recommend the Ultrasone 580($140) for all around use. Mine are good, but they need a soundcard/amp. It depends on what you are doing with them really.

I did read that but couldn't find a headset that looked good and had a mic. I liked the Audio Technica AD700, but it has no mic to my knowledge; same thing with the Audio Technica AD700.

Here is a nice roundup of gaming headsets by Tom's that will probably help you.

As far as just headphones without a mic, I recommend the headphones I have, Superlux HD668B. They get awesome reviews, and sound great for ~ $50. You would be getting better sound than the gaming headsets, and you could just pick up a USB mic.

One that I recommend is the Tenqa REMXD headphones. Here is a link to check them out Tenqa REMXD. First saw these on Engadget and thought they would be pretty neat. Most people that buy them seem to love it. I want a pair simply because I keep busting my cords at the connector.

most people don't want to reply because headsets (headphones+Mic in one) are crappy quality compared to the separate combination. They charge you way too much for the convenience of having a headphone and a mic in one. That said if you really want a headset in that price range you're looking at a PC350 used or an AKG GHS-1. The AKG is on the ear rather than over the ear though.

Both of those were in the link above.

Wireless headphones suffer in the quality department.
