GTX 680 SLI crash on BF3 :( - Page 3

I had this issue as well , i had it with GTX590 and i had it with GTX670 SLI , this error is due to clocks , as someone said BF3 doesn't like overclocked cards.
I used to have this crash with my GTX590 sometimes even though i didn't overclock it , it just had a slight OC form factory but even that was enough to cause the crash.
When i jumped to GTX670 SLI i had the same error and it turned out it was due to one of the cards being unstable , now even though both of my cards are overclocked i don't get this error anymore.
What you need to do is test both cards separately and test SLI with lower clocks , you should be able to work out either which card is causing it or what clocks you need to run for BF3.
Changing the drivers or disabling Realtek won't help , this error is nothing new a lot of people used to have it with GTX560/560Ti or GTX570 , just google it and you'll see.

EDIT If you find that one of your cards is unstable and causing the crash RMA it , that's what i did and now all works fine.

Yep I'll definitely RMA them if I still have crashes. So far things seem stable, however the crashes were random before, and sometimes I could do several 3+ hour gaming sessions without issue, and then the next day it would crash every 5 min.

Bumping your Vcore may be the ticket at list it was for me and a lot of others (need it extra .03v to get rid of the freezes ) i could pass all the stress tests but as soon as i start playing BF3 the system would lock

Do you have anything changed in the nvidia control panel?
I cranked everything up through the control panel around a week ago and it started causing mine to get the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG, since I turned it down a little it stopped. I still use supersample x8 and high quality texture but set everything like AA ect. back to factory settings. So far so good.

I've a similer specs to yours ...

but, I found the driver that came with my EVGAs (301.10) quite stable. Also, 301.48 been very stable with BF3 .. my only issue I can't do benchmarking as my system crashs when I try - but I guess that is mainly related to some issue with my RAM !!

That is strange... I have to OC my 580s to make it stable in BF3. Stock clocks it freezes then I get 'display driver stopped responding' and 'input timing' errors. With an OC... runs smooth as silk. Average 95-100fps with all max settings.

Yeah but isn't a dell 2209W monitor only 1680x1050?

Mines been crashing to windows, it will freeze, I do a ctrl alt delete and start task manager, and it says BF# has stoppped working.
Could this be from SLi or Oc'ing?
My understanding is if its a GPU or CPU problem I would Blue Screen, not just crash to windows.

This might be a long shot but I used to get a lot of those errors before I switched from crome to IE9, my overall game stability increased dramatically before that I was ready to throw in the towel.
