As a few people have mentioned. It's a server and graphics driver problem. Stuttering happens all the time, and every time I play with someone on line, one person has it. My current rig slices this game like butter, very smooth. I hope Blizz fix these problems for everyone.

For my gtx 580 I'm using the .ini file tweak driver of 301.34. Runs 60fps constant. No stutter.

Good luck guys.

Whats the .ini file tweak?

diablo 3 is butter smooth here and sli works
try raising the foreground max fps slider until u reach a comfortable consistent 60
crtl + r for in-game fps monitor

1920x1080
high everything
AA on
max foreground fps 121 (could go higher, heat saving reasons?)
max background fps 10
vsync on
296.10 whql
sound high 128

< 20% cpu usage
high 30 to mid 40's gpu usage (both gpu's)

consistent 60fps

btw even though vsync is on if I lower the max foreground fps << 100 I cannot maintain 60fps

When I run the game, it looks like everything is stuttering and glitching around, not the main menu, in the game. I watch my fps and it stays high above 130, but jumps around. I tried to enable vsync via nvidia control panel for my 120 hz monitor, but it won't work with D3. So I enabled it inside of d3 and am sitting at 60 fps. The game is still stuttering and glitchy a bit.
I went into MSI Afterburner to view my temps and GPU usage during heavy encounters, its only utilizing 48% of the GPU @ 58 C. I than opened up task manager and found that I was using nearly 100% of my CPU, i5 2500k @ 4.8 ghz?!? Is my CPU bottlenecking me somehow?
CPU-z shows it properly at 4.8 ghz and all of my overclocks are stable. How can I get diablo 3 to not stutter and to utilize all of my GPU? Also, How can the game be using 100% of my CPU, is this correct?
Also, if you had a similar problem like this and fixed it, please give me any advice you have! Thanks thumb.gif

Turn on Vsync. Seriously that is the fix. Fixed it for my brother and for my friend.
Oh skipped the part that you did enable it.. Hmmm.. Well, although it does use 40% of my GPU also, with Vsync on (and Adaptive Vsync) its running very smooth.

by the way if you play 1080i (like me)you might need to set the fps limiter to 29 (if you use an ati gpu)

if i cap anything close to 60 i can't get 60 fps
it starts dropping
i have to raise the max
i know... it doesn't make any sense
just telling it how it is

Got it fixed somewhat. I still get the occasional stutter but this helped smooth things out quite a bit.

Using the 301.24 beta drivers. Downladed rivatuner and used the d3doverrider to force triple buffering and vsync. Then in game, uncheck both of the fps limiters, and also turn on vsync in game and turn off AA. All other settings are maxed.

There might be a step or two there that is unnecessary but I stopped messing around with it when the gameplay smoothed out.
