Computer restarts while playing BF3. - Page 2

Sorry guys, school!

Unfortunately, I don't have any spare parts to try to test with. Going through Event Viewer, I didn't see anything, but that is probably because I wasn't sure where to look.

On the GPU, it should handle it fine.

And I'm not sure if it's my PSU because I fold on both my GPU+CPU 24/7 without problems, and that pulls more watts out of the wall according to my Kill A Watt.

Where should I look in the Event Viewer?

This event is simply recording the fact that the system was shut down ungracefully. It does not provide information on the source of the problem, but just the fact there is a problem. When this is happening there is a risk of data loss (the information still in the memory cache, that was not flushed to the hard disk). In most cases this indicates a serious problem with the operating system such as corrupted operating system files, faulty memory modules, faulty hardware drivers.

If you have access to another PSU, get one. If not, buy one. In the mean time, perform hardware diagnostics such as Memtest and such.

I had this problem. Overvolting the GPU slightly fixed it for me.

Bumb. I overvolted a bit, still get this problem. I really don't want to buy a new PSU, so is there anything else I can try?. I just find it hard to believe I need a new PSU when I can pull a bigger load from it no problemo.

Can the card run furmark stable? Might be the card itself at fault. Try removing the graphics drivers with driver sweeper then reinstalling them.

Actually I'm pretty doubtful that it is your power supply. Your system could be run on a 400W powersupply with ease since all he has is a 460. I know Coolermaster doesn't make very good power supply but that one can at least pull half of the posted load. Do some ram testing on each individual stick. Simply pull all the other sticks and run memtest to see if you have a bad ram stick.

Not many motherboards now days have a molex connector by the PCIE slot. Also, I would recommend against furmark. I used furmark for 5 hours with no artifacts or shutdown, and then ran GPU Tool stress test, and saw artifacts in the first 5 minutes, with a shutdown after 10. Use something a bit more stressful. I believe MSI Kombuster works just fine.
