CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.90 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($97.99 @ Newegg)
Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($109.99 @ B&H)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card ($399.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($129.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1157.83

PC meant for gaming primarily, and dual monitoring 1920x1080, browsing. Budget is $1500. Wondering if I should upgrade my mobo to a sabertooth z77 bcause I have money left to spend, in which case I would downgrade to 8gb of RAM. Plan to overclock in the not-so-near future. Want to buy soon, still unsure of the motherboard though. Looking for case in that price range, not going to be that case however. And also I already have a WD2005JD 256gb HDD so I didn't include it. Suggestions? First build, any feedback appreciated.

speaking from experience....

If you think you are going to want to go to water cooling in the future....you should plan for it now and go ahead and get a better case that will allow it in the future....like a caselabs. That way you are ready to slap it in there when you can afford it without any other modifications.

you have enough power.

If you didnt want to do the case you could get a better SSD but some say it doesnt matter. You could also go with less RAM but thats a personal preference. I am running only 8gb and dont have any problem with any games.

Since this is your first build, are you planning to overclock much? The aftermarket CPU cooler is good to have but no necessary if you are going to keep it at stock speeds and wanted to use that money to go somewhere else like the SSD I mentioned.

If you also didnt want to go with the bigger case idea you could also look more at a bigger PSU if you wanted to do SLI in the future so you didnt have to get another one when you do.

Other than that it looks good. It would kick the socks of my rig that I am running right now that is for sure.

SSDs do matter! I went from a RAID0 setup to a samsung 830 128GB SSD and i'm never going back! They are AMAZING!

Oh i agree, I am running the Vertex 4. But others i have talked to say that getting the faster ones doesnt matter that much cause you can always raid 0 the cheaper ones.....

How good are the ASrock? They are a good value but how do they hold up compared to the bigger names like gigabyte and Asus? I have always used gigabyte because I thought they were a good value and have never had a problem with them.

I was planning on the G1. Sniper M3 when i get the funds to go to a 3570K as I dont really need more than 2 way sli. But the one the OP chose out looks really nice at a good price.

ASRock is a part of Asus that would be a short and crisp answer to ur question buddy wink.gif

I'd say get a second HDD, just a normal one for storage. Those SSDs can fill up fast especially if you're gaming. Hell, Windows alone takes up like 40-70GB depending on the version.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna go with 8gb of RAM like some of you suggested. I have the peripherals so I don't need monitors. I'm probably just gona stick with my build other than changing to 8gb of RAM. And I do have an HDD, I just didn't include it because I already have it (WD2005JD 256gb).

Sounds like you got a good build. Careful of that case, read the reviews and make sure it's the right one for you. It took me a couple weeks of searching and reading reviews to land on the one I did.
