Hi guys i upgrade my current psu for a new brand corsair hx 850w. It has a single rail (70amp) andi also bougth a barely used gtx 580 for an stupid price i could not resists.. I know my thermaltake will pop with 2 gtx 580's but will my new corsair psu handle my whole oced rig?

according to this the GTX 580 consumes 363 watts under full load. Or 726 watts for two. That gives you about 100 watts leway for your rig. Looks like you'd be pushing it. Might need to get a 1000 watt.

You will be fine man! With your whole rigged overclocked you prolly wont be pulling more then 650-700 watts from the all

A gtx 580 worst case numbers consume about 280-290 watts , so about 580 for sli. add another 200 watts or so for an OCed cpu (typical usage though is 150-180) which leaves about ~75-120 watts for the rest the system

More then likely you should be fine system under normal usage probably at most use around 750 watts.

a 580 doesnt pull anywhere near 360w at full load lol. not even overclocked as high as it will go on air.
