The dam thing heats my whole desk. It's a like a little blow heater. And it also makes a loud noise.

I even had to change my 430w PSU for a 550w run the damn thing with a C2D E6600 and 2xHDD.

ATI cards run super hot, well at least mine does. After play Prey for an hour the whole case is hot and the ATI ctrl panel says the cards 81c!!! And it's 18c in my room.

My 2c.
Change the stock HSF to a Zalman VF900 then you will notice a big difference

Before you do anything, let's confirm that your cpu is indeed overheating.
Download Orthos and Core temp. Use Orthos to stress your cpu and check your cpu temperature. It shouldn't be over 60 degress if you are not overclocking. If it is indeed overheated, reseat your cpu heatsink.

good luck

81c load is fine for the x1900xtx card. My own x1900xtx runs 44c idle and 88c load even with a 120mm fan blowing at it directly!

My Sapphire x1900xt runs @ 65-75 load with ati tray tools controling the fan speed. My speeds vary with the different temp ranges. But I hear the ati cards are made to run to at least 100 before crash. I would do everything possable to keep it below 90 to make sure you don't kill it before its time. the mem may go before the vpu does.
