[OFFICIAL] GTX 670 Overclocking - Page 143

I have a Palit Jetstream GTX670, and i tried the GTX670 Overclocking Master Guide. I only managed to squeeze out a small bit out of it.

Stock:
Boost Clock: 1085
Memory Clock: 1527
Max Boost: 1150 (just around 65 Kepler boost thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif)

OC:
Boost Clock: 1140 (+50 offset)
Memory Clock: 1652 (+250 offset)
Max Boost: 1202 (this goes down to 1189 at full load for prolonged periods because temps go beyond 70c)

I only have the stock NZXT Phantom 410 case fans and the fans of my h100i mounted up top..

1 x 140mm at the front (intake)
1 x 120mm at the bottom (intake)
1 x 120mm at the rear (exhaust)
2 x 120mm at the top for the H100i radiator (exhaust)

What do you guys think of the results? This card runs quite hot, I only managed to setup my fan profile to Quiet because when I try to follow the Performance curve, it goes above 70c anyway.

When i load tested my GPU using the overclock settings, i get temps above 70c even with the fans set at max (90%). It might be the ambient temps here, i live in the Philippines and it's quite hot here. My idle GPU temp hovers at 36~37c.

Also, I don't know if I'm identifying artifacts correctly, haha. My only idea of artifacts are the ones I see in youtube where the artifacting is so blatantly obvious. I don't know if I missed any artifacts in Heaven benchmark while testing.. confusedsmiley.png

Everytime i see the results of a Jetstream, im impressed by the terrible performance of the cooler... Even the blower fan of the 670 FTW does a better job.

I can almost guarentee, that you have no artifacts on +250mhz memory.

Well... It is what it is, so I was hoping to get something a little more helpful than that. Haha. tongue.gif

You are obviously limited by the performance of the cooler, which in my opinion is a shame. 1202 is not bad by any means, but fairly average (in the low end of average). It still is a decent boost from stock clocks, though!

Are you sure you can't push the memory a bit further? Far most people hit 350-500mhz on their memory.

about the memory... when I push it futher, i don't see any significant artifacting... however, there were 2 or 3 times that while i was running Heaven benchmark, the screen just went black for 3-5 seconds, then the benchmark resumed but everything was on a lower framerate - like half of what i was usually getting when the blackout doesn't happen.

yeah, the cooler seems to be the culprit... could i, like, lower the max voltage set in precision X and see if it will improve temperatures given the same clock and memory offset?

When it turns black like that, it means that the driver crashed and you have to lower your overclock. thumb.gif

oh that's why! now i get it, because when that happens - frame rates won't go back to normal even if i lower my memory overclock. i have to restart my machine to achieve regular frame rates again. haha...

any other way to restart driver aside from restarting the whole machine?

They should restart themselves, but i always reboot the machine. Please do yourself the favor, and invest in an SSD drive, to speed up that process tongue.gif

Hi all, need your sugestion about my card...

Here is my result so far...

Boost are on 1333 core and 1900 mem. Need an advice to past Heaven benchmark exam. Im sure I can't touch both vantage and 3D11 clock. So, I have to lower it a bit right? Which is more important, core or memory or both combination? Do you guys think it save if the temp goes past 70c?
