weird: if I don't touch the voltage I can do 100/400 ..... but it looks like it's pulling extra volts it's self from the 111%..... Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

One thing i notice is your temperatures are quite high (at 78c) so the card isn't boosting as high as it could if you kept the temperatures under 70c. Your fan speed is only at 52% so try increasing the fan speeds to like 60-70% or so until the temperatures come down below 70c. That's probably why you're getting better speeds at a lower volts as it reduces temperatures a bit so you can boost higher. Once you get your temps under 70c try increasing the core clock a bit again, also reduce the memory for now until you find your core clock max. If that doesn't help your max core then try reducing the power target to 105% and see if that lets you go higher. When temperatures are throttling the boost, reducing the power target can sometimes help.

hrm. i adjusted it so fan speed says 70c in precision but the temps did not change at all what gives lol (76c now) with 125/450

edit: I didn't realize I had to hit apply for fan speed im a DERP sometimes lol I think in afterburner you just move the slider thats why I didn't realize. temps at 68c now thanks for the help its barely louder than it was too since i got like 10 120mm fans in the case already and now its down to 61c great :-)

Mine seems to be capping out around 1,260 in my testing so far.

I'm affraid that's not the case. Mine boosts to 1215 stock, and I'm only able to overclock it to 1280.

So stock:
980--->1215

OC:
1045--->1280

What is your core boosting up to now with the lower temperatures?
post #55 of 1465
this is what im running now my core won't work at 175 my display driver crashes. forgot to set it to 111% power it boosts to 1202 now....

also im not gonna wear this card out running @ 70% fan all the time am I ? I guess i can put it back auto when im not gaming.

also he is only using 57% fan in his pics what gives.....

He has a non-reference card with a triple-fan setup, this:
600
So it can run at much lower RPMs for the same cooling.

You should also reduce your memory a bit. Starting at +495 is too much, it's probably hindering your core speeds. Try setting it at +0 for now (stock) and see how high you can get your core clock for now. Once you find your max stable core clock, then start increasing the memory.

Edit: To be more specific, here's what i said earlier in this thread:
Quote:
To add to what i said, you should just add 25mhz to your core clock and then run 3dmark11 (there's free copies out there) and check the graphics score. If it goes up (even slightly) and you don't crash or green/blue screen and there's no graphical anomalies on the screen during the bench, then bump it an additional 25mhz. Keep doing this until either the graphics score starts to drop, you crash, or you have graphical artifacts, and then drop the core clock by 12mhz and test again. If it's stable there, bump it up 6mhz and try again. If it's stable there then just stay there for now. Then you'd repeat the same on the memory (though i'd start with increments of 50mhz, then 25, then 12, etc) until it's stable. Once you think you have a stable max-OC then you should try some other benchmarks and games and see if you crash or have artifacts. If you do then you will need to start bumping things down until you become stable again. Once you're there, you could take a more advanced step that usually isn't worth doing if you don't care about truly maxing your overclock, and try dropping your core clock and bumping your memory a little bit to see if that increases your performance, if it does, keep going until you reach instability or performance drops and then back off a bit.

It can if your boost is being throttled because of heat. At least that's how it was for the 680's. Now that you have your temperatures at a good level (under 70c at load) then you can keep it at 111%.
post #60 of 1465
so since you said my mem was too high at 495 i need to reduce mem 25mhz to try to get core up 25mhz ? sorry im a newb video ocer
