No no, we where talking about a heavily modded crysis, you can run games like BF3 fine at that res with 60fps
See on this page > http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/06/26/asus_geforce_gtx_670_directcu_ii_top_video_card_review/6
Its the DCII but its the same thing besides the cooler.

I have an asus gtx 670 directcuII top. I would highly suggest getting an arctic extreme II cooler or extreme 3 cooler. Best gpu coolers made. My stock cooler at 70% fan speed had temps from 70-73c with a 200mm fan blowing on the vid card also. With the arctic extreme II cooler i get temps of 52-56c at full load at 1900 x 1200 on ultra settings on battlefield 3. I also put microcool aluminum heatsinks on the mosfets and random chips i saw on the card. One thing with the ram i put copper heatsinks on them but be careful two spots u cant put any heatsinks or it interferes with the cooler. Ill post pics in 4 hrs to show you guys but for now the first spot for no ram heatsink is right by one of the mounting holes and the second is below by the other mounting hole. Besides from those two spots the arctic will fit fine unless ur card has double stacked power. I think alot of the 680s are double stacked power while 670 is side by side power plugs. My pics later on will show all spots i put extra aluminum heatsinks on. Remember the coooler ur cpu parts stay the longet they will last. One important thing if u have asus gtx 670 or 680 card do not i repeat do not install the asus gpu tweak program u will get random red screens of death so instead use msi afterburner 2.2.1 or newer and u wont have that problem.

interesting.....most people report the Asus DC2 670 coolers to be just fine, as long as you use a custom fan profile....I know completely stock fan profile, it is very inadequate....it's kinda weird how yours is hitting 70-73C with a high 70% fan speed

70% fan speed on a direct cu 2 is not 70% fan speed on a EVGA FTW. Honestly 100% fan speed on the cu2 sounds like maybe 70% fan speed on the FTW or 680.

Even with the stock fan profile the CU2 doesn't get much over 70c. I know that the 680 and i would imagine FTW hits those temps too. The cu2 is the quieter card, thats for sure.

The FTW on the other hand works better with little space (like tri-sli) and exhausts heat out of the case.

Asus does use a bunch of crappy thermal paste on the cu2. Replacing that shaved off a few degrees for me. Way more than I would have thought.

I definitely agree...the DC2 cooler should beat out the FTW cooler no matter what...the FTW cooler really isn't anything special to begin with...its just a reference 680 cooler....70% on my FTW is pretty audible, but not loud....I imagine 70% on a DC2 to be very quiet, and cool the card much better than a FTW at 70%

Yeah that is weird that the Asus card was getting that hot. But they do ran a very silent profile for the fans. Again the Gigabyte GTX 670 OC and the Zotac GTX 670 AMP! Non ref coolers seem to be the only ones to stay under 70deg on load as well as the accelero cooler but that cooler should be the best cause it is huge.
