Like someone already said, I would lower the voltage and the multiplier down just a bit to see if the temperatures are still "high" at around those levels. I'd suspect that 1.488v would dump quite a bit of heat.

When I get home I'll lower it down to your settings and see what temps look like. I guess 1.488 is a good bit of voltage. The reason I started worrying is because some guy here on OCN said he was getting the same temps & voltage with an air cooler.

Okay so I dialed in 4.5ghz @ 1.35 and I'm in the low 50's. So I guess that settles that.

did you notice any drop in application performance? gaming performance?
you might even try to lower the voltage and not the multi.. try for 1.25-1.30v
same multi. on air ive been 52°-55° ambi 23° and water im 39°-42° loaded.
so now your not too off, but s'more clocking work is needed.

Well..aside from ripping your ihs off by heating it up with a grinder, wearing welding gloves, and prying it off with..something while its hot...I'd say the best course of action is..Heat it up in an oven(toaster oven is good) to 220 for 8 mins (upside down) let cool..do again..done..then see what kinda temps you get biggrin.gif
SB IHS IS soldered on...yeah i had a chip that was...like this200
eh...try to reflow..or try to pull off..It's up to you..Warning:May fubar chip
Yeah I cilled that one by trying to lap it flat...It did 5.5 Ghz..but got Insanely hot
It's all done now..sitting on my desktop.
It's not processing anything..

I'm going to stay at 5ghz, that was my goal with this system and I'm there. My only concern with the excessive heat was whether my water cooling loop was working properly. It only gets up to 60c ish while gaming and that's fine by me. I just thought water cooling would get me better temps.

I'll tell you what Schmuckley, when I have an IB sitting on my desk I'll stick my SB in the oven biggrin.gif

What's the point of this thread again?

During prime95 blend @ 5ghz w/ 1.488v My max temps are like 85c. I though they should be lower with my water cooling system... This is my first water cooling loop so i didn't know what to expect.

And I have no idea what you said in your first sentence hahaha

see you even have a higher voltage than me in that screen shot but lower temps. I'm getting 10c higher with less voltage.. It makes me think my cooling setup isn't working properly but maybe its just my chip?
