It caught my eye too! but in the technical specs it shows only 2 extra slots? and one of them will be a video card and only one left?...

or is the technical specs wrong as i can see more than 2!

It has 2 full pci-e slots. The top one (blue) runs x16 off the cpu, the bottom one (black) runs x4 off the Z77 chipset. It also has 2 pci-e x1 slots (the short ones). These can be used for sound cards or tv tuner cards. Same with the remaining slots by the bottom, which are legacy pci slots.

EDIT: I don't think the x4 slot runs off the chipset. The 16 lanes coming from the cpu probably split. I could be wrong on this. Either way, chances are you will never come across a card that uses x4 bandwidth (unless you're doing some kind of REVOdrive, which is expensive as **** so I wouldn't recommend it), so you don't really have to worry about that black slot as you'll probably never actually use it.

From the looks of it, that board has 2 PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (not sure if they both run at x16), 2 PCIe x1, and 3 PCI slots.

EDIT: Yeah, the "Tech Specs" only list the PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, probably because that's generally what people are most concerned with. Other slots are easily identifiable in the pictures.

I really like the i3-2120 I picked up a couple weeks ago. I slapped it into my HTPC to relieve my Phenom II X4 965BE. Mainly did the swap to reduce power usage and heat generation. Also swapping out my unlocked 6950 for a 7850 for the same reason. But gaming wise, in limited testing the 2120 is actually faster than my 965 at 3.5Ghz.

The 2120 does not OC well though, did manage to get mine to 3.4Ghz, but that was it.

yea the i3 isnt very overclockable. but i will upgrade int he future.

do i just swap for another CPU? are there any files or anything to do with memory that i need to back up or is it just a simple swap job?
If you're changing motherboards I would suggest a reinstall of Windows. If you're changing from single to dual core on the same motherbaord you may need to reinstall if Windows iwll not rebuild the HAL for SMP.

Now, in future, if you have your core i3 and you want to jump to a quad, that's just swap and done. I did it with the AMD equivalent going from a Kuma to a Phenom II.
