Ebays fees kill me. I had someone bid on it for $1800 and then closed his account. Got charged about $40 in fee's.

So now I only buy on ebay. No more selling. Probably sell it locally in NC or on OCN for parts or as a whole.

C'mon The Pook. Stay with 939! XD
Around Christmas, I plan to move to an Opty 165 as well.

Anyway, here's a good case

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811208008

I didn't get this, but i'm thinking price wise

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811208004

Both paired with this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811995005

EDIT: Removed Mobo link because you want for XFire chipset

I have the 1st case right now. This thing weighed like a feather when I took it out the box. It's always on weekend sales. ($64.00). It weighs no more than 15 LBS with everything in it. (Looks at my specs)

You can always get a temp monitor that will clip on your CD-Drive slot (I think).

All the reviews say the PSU that comes with that is trash, I say theyre crazy. I have a TEC in here, OC'd the chipset to it's max, added some voltage to ram (and CPU) and there is no problem at all with it [Except that it's only 450W]. They must have had bad luck or something.

So far, this is what I'm thinking about upgrading to. For Christmas I get around $300 -> $325, and I have $270 of my own money. Probably won't start buying until around Christmas, but I'd still like to make "plans."

Here it is:

Reasons for Optie 165:
Opteron, so usually good OCing. Cheapest S939 Dual core. 1MB x2.

Reasons for LanParty UT RDX200
Crossfire. I'm not sticking with Nvidia anymore. I had a 6800GS and it had jumpy shadows. Got a 7600GT after I accidently killed it, and it had the same problem. Less noticable, but still had it. Drivers seemed to fix it, but still annoying. Plus I really want to fold on my video card. Plus, its DFI.

Reasons for Crucial Ballistix
Its 2GB, so its an upgrade on amount. Its DDR500. Guarentted 250Mhz. Its D9 Micron chips. (Right?). Seem to get 300Mhz with 2.85v stock timings. Plus they are cheap and look nice.

Reason for RaidMax X1 Case:

Built in temperature monitor. Big plus. Two tone. Not really a plus, but it matches with most of my room. (Either want a black case, or two tone.) I can flip the window so the fan is blowing over my GPU if I want to, and plus it has 120mm fan mounts in both the front and back. Plus its relativly cheap.

Reasons for Rosewill Fans:
Fan controller included in the box(es). Red and black. Matches the cold cathodes I have (red.) High CFM when I need it, low noise when I don't.

Reasons for Samsung DVD Burner:
DVD-RAM (12x), LightScribe, cheap, good review, and because I need one.

Open to any suggestions. Might drop the mobo for something else, because I probably *won't* use Crossfire. But - if I'm getting an ATI card I mind as well just in case. Plus its the cheapest DFI board.

Might drop the case, and fans and get some nice(er) speakers, but not sure about that yet. My case is *pretty* ugly.
Good stuff bro. I'm doing the same, 2 gigs, dual core and a better video card will take me far

Pook, for not much past the price point you set, you could have:

Intel E6300 Allendale

ABIT AW8D 975X motherboard

Crucial 2GB DDR2 667 3-3-3-12
(OCable to DDR2-800 @ 3-3-3-12)

I hate to say it, but at stock speeds, this rig would most likely outperform the Opty 165 rig you spec'd, and completely humiliate it after overclocking.

Any reason for that mobo over the Gigabyte GA-965P-S3?

And got a link to any OCing of that RAM? I don't really like to believe newegg reviews.

Pook- you don't know how much it pains me to say it, but the upgrade to a decent Conroe just doesn't notmake sense. For a few hundred bucks more... you can get a good ( not decent , but good) Conroe setup.

If not Conroe, then at least AM2 would let you take advantage of ddr2 ( but if yer gonna do that.. Conroe makes more sense).

Cuz, I'm a 939 fanboi, too... but, sometimes, the coffee smells too strong. We gotta face reality, and help AMD step up. Get yerself a really good Conroe rig . Come on folks... give your best shot to helpin us move up.... make some good suggestions, here !
