[Freebies] Older AMD Boards & CPU

post #1 of 42
Thread Starter
I have a Biostar 770A2+, Gigabyte HM61, AMD 4400+, and a 5200+, and two sticks of DDR2 800MHZ ram (one for each board) that need new homes. Please post if your computer recently died or you having a lack of computer, I will select one board and CPU per person as they're will be two winners. Winners will be selected on best reason for not having a computer, 1st winner gets their choice of components (1 processor, 1 board, 1 stick of ram.

None of these have original boxes or software etc and the 770 is missing the backplate for the OEM fan mount, I only have 1 OEM cooler all parts were working as of the last time I used them.
WINNER WILL PAY SHIPPING.

Trying to give back to OCN who's helped with a lot of my knowledge in computers.
This will run the June 17th, good luck.

I would have to say this is a minor upgrade to what i'm using in my sig rig...... I couldn't find much info on the boards, but pretty sure its better than a stock e-machines motherboard...

My brother has had the same computer we got him from circuit city, for a good 8 years now... I have a old rig lying around that is missing a CPU and memory, ironically the ones you said would be a perfect fit. If I win I would build this computer back up, restore it, take some pics for ocn, then let my brother have it, as he needs a new pc badly, If I win I thank you, and my brother thanks you biggrin.gif

My main rig is down actually (board is out for RMA and CPU is degrading quickly so I should send that out too actually). I'm on what's in my sig rig as of today actually. So I wouldn't mind putting my HTPC back and using something similar (these parts are very similar actually to my HTPC02 rig). When I get my main parts back, these would be retired to my 2 year old's rig...which has an Athlon 64 3200 in it and an AGP card. I built it to playback movies and TV shows for him in his room, but it just won't do it. The whole rig is nowhere near fast enough.

A dual core CPU, newer onboard video (if its possible, if not a PCIe slot and I'll buy an 8400 or something)....and more than 1GB of RAM would absolutely help a LOT. I just can't afford to put money into computers anymore right now.....since I'm going back to school so I can get out of min. wage jobs.

@sasuke256:
You do realize that your e4500 is actually leaps and bounds faster than the K8 duallies the OP is offering up right? I would GLADLY trade you a K8 dual core for your Core 2 Duo if that's the case man. smile.gif
