There's a 50 year old guy my dad knows from AA.

He's finally sober and trying to get his life together and needs a computer
so he can send people his resume, learn basics.

I have an old case and a hdd, I can pick up a sempron or similar low end cpu
and he would be good to go, aside from a monitor.

OCN vet here. Lost everything in a break up. Started again and had a baby, had to sell everything to pay for stuff while waiting to start work again. All I have is an old P4 system that has no ram and my old faithful laptop which is only good for an internet machine. Finally starting to get back on my feet but need something more than this lappy to work with. I dont even have a test station anymore to work on PC's for people. Put me in for whatever you can spare and thanks for contributing to the community!!

Currently running a POS semi-broken 8 year old Toshiba Laptop. My AMDs939 motherboard died in my desktop and have not been able to use it. My drive will not burn discs to save it's life and wont read half of the dvd's I put in it. I would like to have a running desktop with decent graphics capability to be able to watch movies/shows that are on my desktop drives.
Help me, Obiwan kenobi, you're my only hope. Haha.

Add; sure enough after I post this, my hdd in my lappy goes out. Fortunately enough for me I had an older usb drive that had a portable version of Ubuntu on it.

Whats up

Take a look at my computer below (in my sig), it's really old and crappy, i try to make the most out of it but find my self sometimes in a road block because i can't do the stuff i really want such as playing semi-newer games, running 3-4 programs without the pc slowing up into oblivion, etc.

the only games i can run at good fps are counter-strike, starcraft 1, diablo 2 & other games that are like 6 years old, and after playing the same old games for like 6 years i'm really sick and tired of them so i just find my self using the pc for browsing the net, watching youtube vids, listening to music because there is not much i can use it for.

and the sad thing is, it is my only rig, i don't have nothing else but this, i probably have the worst main rig on this site

any help would be appreciated it so i guess i'm in

I need them! I've got a CPU [ Real Old, 512 mb ram] that doesn't even start properly. Takes about 15 minutes to load up full and proper. I need 1 of everything to make it a better, more stable CPU.
