Are you sure that is a Socket AM2 in that laptop? When I looked up the Aspire 5532, everything says that it uses a Socket S1 that is not the same as AM2, although some of the same CPUs are made for both sockets (A64 TF-20 and Athlon 2650e are the same processor in different packages).

This article has a lot of information on upgrading a 5532 processor: http://www.darntoothysam.com/blog/2010/01/upgrading-the-amd-cpu-on-an-acer-5532-laptop/

If you can pop a TL-60 in there, there are plenty of places that have them cheap. It would more than double your CPU performance. A TF-20/2650e is slower than some Athlon XP's.

Oh really? Yeah it was weird to me that is said AM2 but that is what I saw when I looked it up. Hmm.

Well thanks a lot. If I remember correctly a Dual-Core Turion is the best for the S1 socket. Thanks man. + on the rep smile.gif
