Asus Sabertooth Z77

Thread Starter
Alright, I was wanting to buy some high end Memory. Just 16 or 32 GB, but i'll choose that later. What I'm worried about with the Sabertooth Z77 is that the "Memory Standard" for the board is 1866/1600/1333 MHz. Does this mean that I cannot place a 2133 MHz or a 2400 MHz speed ram on the board?

Or would a person just go about by overclocking the ram?

Look under "Memory"

*how do I move it?*
Should i just start a new one?

yeah, wrong place to post.. they'll move it..
welcome to the forum.
thats kinda what its saying. the modules over 1866 are not supported. which in the
ASUS line is the only one all the others support 2400 (only if using IB processor).
1866 support is for SB/IB support.

it was the X79 (2011) platform. a generous difference. the RAM will work
but he may have to "stepdown" the speed, so why have it if you gotta
slow it down?

Really any speed ram works in any motherboard, it's just whether the rated speed of the ram will be used or a lower frequency. You'll have to set it manually or it will default to 1333 most likely
