post #1 of 34
Thread Starter
Hey Guys/Girls ive taken the plunge and decided to do my first build. Could you please post on any thoughts or recommendations for this build.

System Build

Tower = NZXT Switch 810(White)

MB = Asus Rampage Formula IV

CPU = NTEL CORE I7 3820 SANDY BRIDGE-E 3.60GHZ 10MB 130W LGA2011

Ram = OCZ DDR3 6 GIG 1600

PSU = CORSAIR HX1050 1050W MODULAR POWER SUPPLY

HD = INTEL 520 SERIES 120GB 2.5" SATA3 6GB/S 25NM SSD (SSDSC2CW120A3K5)

Graphis Card = 1x EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Hydro Copper

Cooling Build

CPU Block = Xspc Raystorm

RADS = Xspc RX 360(Top)

Xspc RX 240(Bottom)

Fans = 10x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm x 25mm Fan - 1850 RPM (D1225C12B5AP-15)

Fan Controller = Lamptron FC Touch

Tubing = PrimoFlex PRO LRT Tubing (UV Red 1/2" 3/4" 1/8")

Fittings = Monsoon FC Comp. Fitting 1/2" ID 3/4" OD Chrome

Pump/Res Combo = XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Reservoir - Alphacool VPP655 Variable Speed Pump

My Flow will be Res/Pump combo>RX360 RAD>CPU>GPU>RX240 with fans in push/pull.

Question is will the Pump/Res have good enough flow for this build??. Thanks for any feedback

what kindda temps did you have with an air cooler? this way we'd know if the
performance value of your purchase is worth the performance gain. or maybe
get other pieces to function more efficiently.

Yes, that pump/res combo can more than handle your loop.

see thats a problem.. you wont know if you have the corrected an issue (if you had on)
and relying on others (that have different setups) to quote you what you should have..
backwards, but good luck on your build, sounds great!

It'll fit fine mate, I'm running the HX1050 with an XSPC 240 in the bottom, only pull atm though, though I can't see why Push/Pull would change that.

You might want to flush those Rads out before you use them, I found lots of green crap in my two, I guess its flux. But both my XSPC rads where full of it.
