Seems harsh to bring a game rating down just because them DCing a few times.

I played for a good 3 hours or so after work yesterday, but then they went down again. Came back up an hour later or so. It's annoying, but they'll iron out these issues soon enough I'd hope.

Diablo 3 isn't a bad game. It isn't awesome though.

It's a simple, addictive game with cheesy dialogues.

And the always on DRM is very stupid, yes. I don't play mutiplayer, so it's useless to me.

This is so stupid and petty, downrating a game because you're mad about connection problems. The server issues has nothing to do with whether the game is good or bad, and you certainly cannot judge a game based on problems that will be gone within a few days after launch max. Those people don't deserve to play D3.

For every negative on-line review there are 1000 happy customers.

I think the game has it's flaws - but as it's so much fun - I'm don't mind the inconvenience of always on internet connection - actually, I don't really find it an inconvenience at all!

You're welcome to your opinion but you should know that alot of people think the game is brilliant, me included. the server issues are incredibly annoying but the game itself is incredible. The cinematics, music, everything just wreaks of substantial effort

But by supporting always online DRM, you are validating other publishers (oh, say like Ubisoft) doing the exact same thing.

People crapped all over the Assasins Creed series simply because of always online DRM. People "voted with their wallets" in order to stand against the DRM.

So why suck it all up now and say thanks for something you're gonna complain about next time you hear about always online DRM?

Because it diablo 3, so all the fanbois ignore the always-on requirement, and the blizzard fanbois.

ALWAYS ONLINE DRM = evil incarnate.

It must be eliminated immediately. Single player shouldn't need an online connection 24/7!

You know?

There would be at least 20 pages of almost nothing "not buying" / "Steam or no buy" / "STOP trying to ram your DRM down our throats!"

Has everyone just totally FORGOT that they hated always online DRM or something?

Assassin's Creed had always-on DRM...for nothing. Piracy prevention supposedly. They spent longer shoehorning the always-on DRM into the game than they spent on the port itself.

Diablo 3 has always-on DRM that provides an in-game chat service, in-game auction house, achievement sharing, and will hopefully (too early to tell) prove to allow for a viable in-game economy that's relatively free of hacking, duping, and botting.

Give enough back with an always-on requirement and there's a lot less to complain about. If Assassin's Creed had included a lot of those things it probably wouldn't have got crapped on as much. Though truth be told without the argument for trying to stabilize an economy, a lot of the reasons to require a persistent internet connection are gone.
