Hey guys quick q. I'm lookin for a 670 and I wouldn't mind getting or at least trying an open box item. Only problem is when I look online, it shows in stock on the main search page then when I click on the item it shows out of stock. What is the best method of trying to get one when its in stock? Is it just a guessing game? Like is there a specific time during the day when they're updated or does it not matter? Is there a way of text notification of open box items coming into stock?

Thanks guys. What's been peoples experience with open box items? So so? I heard you can get some lemons sometimes with this. I got an open box mobo and the memory slots were dead...so I'm 0/1 on open box items...

go to the item page, not the overall openbox items page, and refresh from time to time smile.gif
there's absolutely no fixed time when the openbox items will be up. They can be up in the middle of the night.
There are certain programs / browser plugins that allow you do auto-fresh the page at a certain interval and monitor if there has been any change, such as "check4change" in firefox.

That's because NewEgg's database is slow to update. Sometimes you can even sit on the actual item's page and see it still being in stock, and add it to cart, but then it shows as out of stock on other pages, and transaction gets cancelled if you try to check out. It's a bit buggy. But yes, it's still best to hunt for individual cards on their web pages.

GTX660ti

I've looked at its specs and it won't beat out my 580 by much, my next upgrade that will be worth it is at least a 670....This is a pretty good deal though!

I picked up one of the GTX660 Ti's. Power Edition looked too great to pass up.

Is there a similar thread for Amazon's Warehouse Deals? I've seen some excellent ones show up from time to time but I always forget to check. These deals usually look a bit better though.

However, this thread should be of great assistance to me as I'm now looking to pick up a new GFX card. Kind of sad that I missed out on the 660's for $134 on amazon, but if I get any sort of deal I'll be happy(although for $134 I would have ordered two...). I just need that extra motivation to finally pull the trigger and order a card.
