[THG] Diablo 3 Beaten in Just 7 Hours? - Page 14

If you finished the game on Normal, you did not beat the game under any circumstances. You finished 5% of the game, you have way more to accomplish.
You did not beat it on Inferno. You have 5 classes get to lvl 60. Plus their is a load of achievements to acquire. Easily 300 hours of gameplay.

If you are disappointed and think the game is short, then you need to stay away from: Hack and Slash games, FPS games, Racing games, RTS games, etc. Hell you should just stop gaming period and find something else to do.

While fighting the butcher, you must kill him while he is stunned from running into a wall during his charge attack.
Like I said I did it on accident, but I thought it was a pretty interesting achievement haha.

well for this game you have to be fast. battle.net is down right now so maybe the object of the game is to kill things as quickly as possible before there's a server outage.

This. The gaming industry has had 10+ years to change since Diablo 2 came out. Personally, I need/expect more from a game than just a mindless grind. I used to love that too.

Speed through the whole game...

7 hours for normal difficulty
7 hours for Nightmare difficulty
7 hours for Hell difficulty
=21 hours

Now do that for all classes:
21 x 5 = 105 hours of gameplay.

That is without replaying the same exact content and rushing through everything.

Seems like a good deal to me.

yes. I dont know why people are not putting more emphasis on LOOT. Gamers dont play diablo for a long story line. Not many gamers play dungeon crawlers for that reason, but instead for the all the loot. That is why it is considered a dungeon crawler. A game where you spend time in dungeons, crawling around looking for cool stuff. Diablo has always had randomly generated dungeons and a huge variety of weapons and armor which makes the game fun to play each time around. its like Left 4 Dead, in the sense that its not a long story but it does have a lot of replayability. If i buy a game i want a complete package: Good storyline (doesnt have to be long), Replayability, Multi-player (with no BUGS) and this includes both how fun it is to play online and also how easy is it to connect with friends, and acheivements which i think have changed how we play games too. There more but i dont want to create a long list of things i prefer in a game.

And not all games have to have a super long story line to be a great game. Long story lines dont make great games alone. Re-playability i think should take a huge factor into what makes a good game. Whats the point of spending 60$ on a game if you are only going to play it once through and not really enjoy all it has to offer. But i digress...

the point is the LOOT. GIVE ME LOOT!!! and i LOVE THE AUCTION HOUSE!! Shop around in there and you can find some pretty nifty things for very reasonable prices. Im thinkin about getting into the trading business there, buy low /sell high. I think there is money to be made there. Creating your own weapons, combining your own gems, no more identify/town portal scrolls, are a few other awesome aspects of the game.

If i beaten the game in normal level, i won't bother playing it in hardest level, or vice versa. What for? It's the same thing, only harder.

You're only going to play it on normal once.

Good luck in PvP when it releases all other people will have godly gear but you.

QFT

Couldn't have said it any better, people still play D2 10-12 years after release, I guarantee you its not for the story line. The same will go for D3, LOOT is king, and the only way you get it, is replaying it over and over again.

Not to mention the people who are in it to find items and sell them, that alone will keep a large base continually playing.

prepare to be disappoint by torchlight 2, then.
Runic game said them self it is more like D2 then D3 is like to D2 which I agree.
Either way, I don't really care. The writer of the article said lack of new improvement and the the only example is no camera zoom.
Why would you even need a camera zoom is beyond me.
What he is seems to be those story game like Mass effect or assassin creed, but Blizzard only make game with actual gameplay.

However, on the writing front I agree with you Blizzard's writing seems to be stuck 10 year ago.

New to the whole diablo scene but I've been playing it the last few days, and I love it! But could someone with as little sarcasm as possible explain to me what our supposed to do in pvp? And when does it come out?
Honestly, "beating" the story =//= beating Diablo 3.

Congrats. You rushed through only the main quest on normal diff. Now, crank it to nightmare, hell of inferno, and actually do some of the side-dungeons. Some friends and I took about 16 hours to beat it. We're not on nightmare, and about 5 hours into that (just got to act 2). After that, hell, after that inferno.

We're still only level 37 (well I am biggrin.gif - they're 36).
