also what kinda character do you have now in d3?

Actually, 1/2 mil for a studio is kind of chump change these days, back then it wasn't but now...Meh.

Weeks before D3 actually launched they had dropped some serious cash on the NI so, they spent well over a couple million to get servers ready for D3.

I, personally, think they just didn't have them ready...Plus, I can't say more but, a couple user errors along the way...There were real issues.

I haven't had much time because I'm currently working a contract...But, so far I have a couple 40s...Nothing special.

Even my law firm spends more than $500k on server infrastructure. Nonetheless, your insider info is definitely interesting. I have a hard time believing they won't be in the black for years on D3, but I don't have their numbers. Not that it matters anyway - not when you make a billion a year off an MMO.

I'm currently a level 59 Witch Doctor and ready to down Diablo tonight. I spent about 12 hours to go through normal and I think I'm at about 40-50 hours so far, up to this point. To me, the game actually gets challenging at Hell.

I don't know how some of you guys can take 7 hours to complete Act I, I mean play how you want but 7 hours? To me this game isn't meant to be about the story line and exploring for hours doesn't give me any sort of "immersion". I'm given a task to complete this quest, if I come across a dungeon I'll most likely do it. I do want to get to task at hand done, I consider my play style "normal". So I think that 7 hour play through is fine, what's stopping them from taking their time and enjoying the game later on? Nothing.

I play D3 for the challenge and the loots, the story is just there for me so the game makes sense (I like the story and everything, don't get me wrong". The D series was never supposed to be a long drawn out "epic story", I would honestly be very upset if it took 50 hours to complete normal then have to do it all over again until hell. Fact is that it's just not in the D series to do that.

12 and a half hours later, I'm somewhere in act II with a level 23 wizard. The game is just wow, I explore everything and kill everything on a map before going any further. I've found so many rare items! it's been years since I've enjoyed a game like this, can't wait to get it to 60 and play the other classes!

Level 51 wizard right here. act 4 nightmare. pretty ez. my dps is good. I use two defensive skills, two buffs for my dps, 1 summon pet, an arcane hydra, and then my spammable secondary skill called arcane orb that only costs 20 arcane to spam 175% weapon damage as aoe to any enemy it hits. My skills are:

summon familiar: does 20% of my weapon damage to enemies, with a rune that increases my weapon damage by 17%

magic weapon: with a rune that increases my weapon damage by 15% with a rune

Diamond skin: absorbs damage and the rune reduces the cost of all my skills by 7 arcane power

energy armor: increases my armor by 65% and decreases my arcane power by 20. The rune increases my critical chance by 5%

arcane hydra: summon a hydra that does 28% of weapon damage to enemies for 16 seconds.

Arcane orb: does 175% weapon damage to enemies and is a single bolt that can aoe.

My passive skills are: arcane regeneration by 2 per second

glass cannon: increases all damage by 15% but decreases armor by 10%

and my last passive stuns enemies for 2 seconds every time I deal arcane damage

My build is so awesome lol. This is how you play a wizard and maximize your dps.

My built may be tweaked a little bit later on though.

I use a kiting build.

Primary: Electrocution with Surge of Power
Secondary: Teleportation with Wormhole

Skill 1: Meteor with Meteor Storm
Skill 2: Blizzard with Frozen Stiff (not sure about rune name)
Skill 3: Hydra with Frost Hydra
Skill 4: Diamond Skin with Enduring

Passive 1: Arcane Regeneration
Passive 2: Cold Blooded
Passive 3: Illusionist

My strategy is this:

1. Drop Frost Hydra
2. Drop Blizzard
3. High a few times with lightning to build arcane power
4. Drop Blizzard/Meteor Storm if not dead

Strategy against large numbers or bad odds (champion packs):

1. Drop Frost Hydra
2. Drop Blizzard
3. Run back a short distance
4. Shoot lightning
5. Repeat previous steps
6. If enemy still gets to me, pop Teleport and try again
7. If enemy catches up still, pop Diamond Skin

Same. It is great to see so many different playing styles for the Wizard alone. I have already seen at least 20 distinctly different spell builds/playing styles. I also like the fact that there are cool downs so we don't see anything like the Hammerdins which IMHO totally ruined D2.
