Adding 8GB stick to existing 2x6GB - Page 2

post #11 of 14
Hmm - 10 GB UNusable?

Sounds like you either have a 32bit OS or you've accidentally set a setting in your BIOS which "helps" enforce the 3.25 gig limit of a 32bit OS.

Look in your bios and see if you have memory remap {enable}. You can also type in "msconfig" and go to boot, then advanced options and check the maximum memory box and try that. Thanks

Again, me and my typos. I've been a little stressed out and a little out-of-focus today because of work so I do apologize. 10GB was "usable". I've managed to solve the problem by looking at this image:

259

DDR3_2 --> 2GB
DDR3_1 --> 8GB
DDR3_4 --> 2GB
DDR3_3 --> 2GB

Dual Channel

Please change the title of this thread to "Adding 8GB stick to existing 3x2GB" and mark it as SOLVED. Thank you all.
