The Samsung 830 is faster than the m4 in 4K random reads, but slower in 4K random writes. The 830 is slightly faster than the m4 in sequential read/write. However, the most important consideration, IMO, is reliability, and both Samsung and Crucial have had excellent reliability records with their respective drives, especially when compared with SandForce-based drives. I currently own an m4 for my desktop and am looking to get a Samsung 830 for my laptop.

Which is cheaper? That is the one I would get. lol

Both perform similarly in real world usage. The Samsung has better NAND and faster writes.

I have only used Crucial, and have been very happy with them.

I would like to try a Sammy, but with the price of the Crucials right now...?
