[CNN]Comcast moving towards a usage based billing - Page 15

I'm glad that Charter Communications hasn't jumped on this ridiculous bandwagon. I suppose there past is still haunting them and they don't want to piss anyone off.

Besides, water and power companies get to charge per use, and you yourself put cable in the same category as water and power.
So, what are you complaining about?

AT&T started capping at 150GB. I'm still waiting for them to lower our monthly bill because you now have to use less. Less use = lower price right? Hmmmmm. Oh wait, high entry barriers turn the telco market into a virtually competition free market and thus these practices are born.

Thats why they all just so happened to have started around the same time.
And they do it because they know they wont be prosecuted by the us government.
Heres my post back in 12/23/2010 From the wall street journal article
http://www.overclock.net/t/895393/wall-street-journal-isps-to-possibly-charge-per-gb-update-12-23-2010
Recently, Mr. Genachowski suggested that instead of selectively slowing certain traffic to cope with congestion, providers could consider charging consumers for how much data they consume. That would be a departure from the flat monthly fees consumers pay now for Web access.
Its called economic oppression, get used to it, because its just the start of an expanding system with boundaries slowly withering away.

Are you kidding me you kids are complaining about a 300gb cap, and only have to pay for 50gb over? hahahaha
I have one of the top tiers you can get for internet here and I only get 150gb per month, and have to pay for every gb I go over.

talk about first world problems lol.

So now everyone will have 300gb cap each month, and will be charged extra for ever 50gb or so you go over. It be nice if they used their billions they are making to just increase their capacity...

They may try to start lowering the limits until it's very small like the smartphone data plans.

I agree, 300gb isn't too bad of a limit at all. I am afraid however, that they realize that a limit is possible to implement, they will incrementally lower it more and more. They're playing the "how much I can get away with game" very much like the laptop market today. They are just getting away with putting a HD3000s in computers and calling them high performance gaming laptops.

Must suck living in the US... In Finland there is no such thing as capped internet, you pay a monthly fee for the connection and you can use it as much as you like.

To my knowledge I don't know if I have a data cap or not. But If I do I have never hit it.
