This is not usage based billing. This is nickle and dime billing. I personally would like true usage based billing, same as my every other utility. Then people pay their fair share dependent on how much they use vs some people paying for others usage.

I'm fine with this.

Know why? In their current system, there's a 250gb cap. If you go over that cap they give you a warning. If you exceed the cap again, they'll simply disconnect you and refuse you service.

A 300GB limit with overage fees is better than a 250GB limit and being cut off from the internet for a long period of time. I'm not saying it's ideal, but this is still better than their current policy.

You know, that would make sense except.... this isn't a bandwidth problem when other carriers are having no problems with load and having to go to "Tiered" systems.

This is just a fad being started by larger companies with geographic monopolies. AT&T started it and everyone else has been jumping on board. There is no necessity.

"I don't use 300GB a month so you shouldn't be able to use 301GB a month because bandwidth is a precious commodity"

Yeah and that's exactly why "all you can eat" is no longer "all you can eat"... They're losing money... not because food is in shortage.

how is it "limited" exactly?
sure it uses a fixed amount of resources (mainly electricity).

where is the limitation on something thats been created by humans? it really is infinite as long as the hardware, power, and space is there..

and if you wanna discuss waste of resources theres plenty of other less efficient "standards" that are in place then some hardware that provides bandwidth
