Lol'd at all the Americans complaining about their internet, you guys still have it better than us Aussies. I pay $100/month for ADSL 20mbps down 1mbps up capped at 200GB and that's considered good here.

Up here in northern michigan there are several little ISP's fighting it out for internet supremacy, mi-com, frontier, m33access just to name a few.

They are all uncapped, unchecked and ready to roll. All though the speeds and once in a while disconnects make it lack luster but i don't have to worry about anything.

i pay like $75 a month for 15mb, so you can keep your lols.

In regards to the cap, i like the move, 300GB is nice as i come close to the 250 every month and id rather have the option to go over and pay for it then to potentially have my service shut off

sure it uses a fixed amount of resources (mainly electricity).
where is the limitation on something thats been created by humans? it really is infinite as long as the hardware, power, and space is there..
and if you wanna discuss waste of resources theres plenty of other less efficient "standards" that are in place then some hardware that provides bandwidth
the resources that is limited are is the manpower, equipment, and technology that can maintain and expand the infrastructure. all of these themselves are limited. 300 gb wasn't a problem 5 years ago but now more and more people are reaching this capacity with netflix, steam and itunes.

$40 for 6 down 1 up ADSL with a 250GB cap U JELLY? It would be a 150GB cap if I didn't have their TV service as well AT&T. I'm disappointed with big business as usual, making huge profits and claiming that they need to cut quality and charge more or they'll go belly up. If there was so much strain on the system then my slow connection would probably be slower than it is so I highly doubt this claim of an overtaxed system.
