Just got my EVGA GTX 670 FTW - Page 3

I don't suppose any of you guys with one of the FTW cards would be nice enough to crack the card open and get a few pics of the PCB please?

Thankyou!

My personal experience would agree with this. My Gigabyte GTX 670 barely crosses 80% under full load. I keep my power target at slider 100% as it doesn't get there anyways.

Congrats on the replacement. That was awesome of EVGA to take care of the SC buyers like that.

In my case, I received my GTX 670 SC on Tuesday from Newegg. On Wednesday I read about the issues and "mini-recall" here on Overclock.net. That evening I emailed Jacob with my serial number and stated my concerns that my card might be one of those affected. Keep in mind that this card has never been installed or tested since I received it (5 weeks now 'til I build my new rig). Thursday I received a response from Jacob asking me to register my 670 on EVGA's website which I promptly did. Friday morning I received an email from EVGA stating the RMA process had begun and asking me to submit a copy of my invoice for proof of purchase. The email stated that it would take 1-2 business days to reach the next step which I assume is when they ship the 670 FTW edition. Anyway, for any interested I will keep you apprised of the RMA's progress once I receive further info from EVGA.thumb.gif

what is it about these cards exactly? bad chips or a EVGA sourced defect? when will classified 670's go to sale and will there be a model like the gigabyte, with one 8pin and one 6pin PCI power source?

Would anyone know if the EVGA 670 backplate would fit on this?

Thanks.

I would say no as the ftw version uses the gtx 680 pcb so it would be too short...you need a gtx 680 backplate to fit a gtx 670 ftw.
