Hey guys...So i had a dell u3011 with two gtx 580 msi lightning xtremes (3gb edition) in sli. sweet setup..i must say IPS panel in 1600p is awesome. Would of looked better if dell didnt use so much AG coating....and yes you see that little sparkle effect on white backgrounds (if you look for it) anyways i decided i wanted to give 120hz 1080p gaming a try. I have read that you need some serious power to push 120 FPS... Sold the dell monitor and bought a asus 120hz monitor. sold the 580's and bought two gtx 680 asus DC II TOP....which i believe is the fastest 680's....So in BF3 when not looking at the main action i think i average 120fps but as soon as i look at the action (heading into battle) it averages about 85 fps..with all settings ultra and motion blur off. Does that seem right ? I formated and installed a clean version of windows 7 after the graphics card upgrade...newest drivers bios, nvidia, etc
system specs
Windows 7
ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68
Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge @ 3.4GHz
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 @2133 x2 totaling 16GB
ASUS GTX680-DC2T-2GD5 GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit x2 in SLI
I was hoping to get a steady 120fps in action...I must say it does feel much smoother over 60hz monitors. But if i cant get a steady 120fps in action...not sure its worth it.
does my FPS seem right ?
thanks
