GTX680 can handle 2560 x 1440p easily and MAX out 1080p. Most people that do get 2 either get it because they are driving some crazy resolution or 120Hz or just for fun and benchmarking.

Most people are doing it for 120Hz monitor.

Just stick with your current set-up and get a second 680 in a few weeks when the next shipment comes in early June to most retailers online.

I am pretty sure GTX680 SLI > GTX670 SLI even if lets say you get same fps with both cards. Nvidia tends to make better SLI drivers with their high end GPUs. GTX580 SLI had much much better (Frame Times) compare to GTX570 SLI and GTX590. You dont pay extra $100 just for show ans some extra SP units.

It may sound funny but its true. SLI profiles are tweaked differently for all cards. Their highest end GPUs get more love.

It may be fine for you....but you cant push 120 fps (in action) on ultra settings in BF3 then. So yeah even with two of the fastest cards on the planet is sill not enough yet for modern games

see this thread http://www.overclock.net/t/1258672/average-fps-rate-on-bf3-60hz-to-120hz-monitor

There are several threads on here...if you search that says what you are stating is FALSE...but i am not going to argue.....I well let the Charts of benchmarks do my arguing. But you can BELIEVE you are locked at 120 in action on bf3 with ultra settings. Lol
