I have no problem playing Shogun2 Total War and Starcraft 2 at 60fps(vsync on) with my FX-8120. I have not had a single problem with any game I have with my FX-8120 and I have seen a nice increase in a lot of my games over my 1090t. There is something very wrong with your rig if you cant play Shogun 2 Total War or Starcraft 2 with good frame rate.

The FX-8120 is very good CPU but if the rest of your rig is not up to par it is not going to help.

id love to buy one of those magical fx8120 that you have that can play shogun 2 total war with max units in the screen at 60fps even an overclocked intel cpu can't do that. that's one helluva chip you got there

this is exactly what I'm talking about. even an i3 would outperform an FX cpu with situations like these. ive said it countless times already, we still live in a 2 threaded world esp in gaming. two FX **** cores working in shogun 2 vs. intel 2 cores and we all know which one will be faster. most games are poorly threaded BUT VERY cpu extensive.

I notice a massive difference between Phenom II X6 and FX-8120, in the FX's favor.

Its not AMD's fault companies have shoddy development teams. Shogun 2 died awhile ago anyways.

To the OP, if all you do is play games, keep the 1090T... if you do CPU intensive stuff like encoding video, etc. get a FX 8120. Personally I would wait for the FX revisions coming out this fall.

To all the people trashing the FX CPU line for how bad it is in single core workloads and gaming... why even own more than a dual core if all you do is game. Your argument is weak. Many people do much more than play video games with their computers. The whole point of having 4+ cores is for multi threaded workloads, not gaming.

If they are offering to ship you a brand new replacement 1090T you would be stupid to not take it (no offence). The value of a brand new 1090T right now on ebay is well over $200. Even if you don't plan on keeping it sell it on ebay, pass go, collect $200, buy a 8120, and a pizza, and some beer... and share with me k? biggrin.gif

op,i just watched some of the shogun videos on you tube,one quiz,why dose his camera work fine if the computers lagging so much please?

also ultra on a single gpu (even if it is dual chip)
