This is my record with my Gigabyte 670 GTX. Seems I can't get higher maxboost without going unstable. Any advice or input, or should I be happy with my score?

Max temp: 62C
Max boost: 1234 MHz
Mem: 7508MHz

For comparison's sake, here is what my Gigabyte 7950 scores in Heaven 3.0

1280MHz core / 1800MHz memory / 1.3 V / Catalyst 12.8
GPU-Z Validation

Nice score Bruennis.

It's really not surprising the 7950 w/a fat OC can edge out the 670's on this test ... it's fairly bandwidth-sensitive at these settings (as evidenced by how well the fps scales with memory OC'ing), and the 7950 at 1800MHz actual (7200 effective) has gobs more memory bandwidth than anyone's 670 no matter how high they're able to get their memory OC.

All told the 7950's are beast, esp. for the money they're going for right now. If you happen to get one that'll hit monster OC's like the one you got, they're completely untouchable in terms of bang-for-buck in it's price segment.

Personally, to me, the feature set (the individual game profiles, physX, ability to use nVInspector and such), driver reliability, and quietness of my 670 makes it a preferable card all around to a 7950, but I definitely would give it serious consideration if I was looking to buy something in the $3-400 range. It really is a stellar value thumb.gif

You will be fine.... you really ought to bump that q9650 up to 4Ghz though. I'm running an EVGA 670 FTW 4gb overclocked in my Q9550 (@4.08Ghz) rampage extreme sytem... I'm getting similar results as folks with shiny new CPUs biggrin.gif. GTA4 and a handful of other titles will be slower due to the CPU but you should be fine. Heaven maxed at 1080p I got 49.9 fps if that tells you anything.

I've had two 7970 duds before this 7950 but at one point I was seriously considering the Gigabyte GTX 670 for it offers greater performance than the 7950 at stock but then I got around to thinking about practicality and how I spent $800+ on a Sapphire 7970 and Gigabyte 7970 both of which couldn't overclock very well (The Gig. was voltage locked and Sapp. was a lemon); I figured I'd give the 7950 a shot to outshine its bigger brother. I spent $310 for the 7950 and it spanks the two 7970 lemons in games and in synthetics. I must say that I am highly impressed and would recommend the card to anyone looking for a high end card but not willing to spend big money.

Heaven is 100% GPU.
And nice, what about Vantage scores? =o
