Is there an adapter for this or will my laptops onboard suffice?

Hey guys,

Just ordered the Sennheiser PC360 for gaming.

I use a Dell XPS L1502x laptop.

I don't have a desktop rig. But I do have an old X-Fi Xtreme music laying around.

Is there a need, with the low impedence of the PC360's (50 ohms) to either amp them with my E11 OR is there an adapter that I can use the X-Fi with my PC360's on my laptop?

I don't get the headphones until next week, probably later in the week.

IMO, the onboard *Should* be fine, but I was wondering what OCN thought.

Thanks,

Jam3s

Laptop onboard audio varies widely in quality and performance characteristics (which depend not just on the chip used but the laptop's motherboard / power / audio layout and so on), so it's hard to say.

I think you'll have a better idea once you get the headset and have a chance to use them with and without the E11.

As a test, I'm using my Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's with the onboard. They're 1) very good for positioning 2) despite the fact that they're the 250 ohm version, I didn't need to use the E11. and 3) The onboard seems to be decent.
