I have the phoebus and I am testing it right now. I am not a user, i'm a hardware reviewer and as such I will try to be more detailed in my examination.
The card came directly from ASUS Argentina and so far I have mixed results. For music, well, the card is outstanding, but as soon as I started my recent downloaded digital copy of Borderlands 2 for review (i was thinking on using the card while I was writing the review of Borderlands 2) I nice BSOD came out.
Shocked by this, since it was my first BSOD EVER on my PC (I have an X-Fi Titanium on this pc) I tried another game, Medal of Honor Limited Edition, nice playing for like 20 minutes and BANG, sound distorted and then sound repeating forever, screen froozed and had to manually reset the PC because it completely destroyed windows.
I am still shocked, that a product like this could produce such a huge problem on two games so I inmediatly loaded battlefield 3, to my dispair it frooze on me on the first 10 minutes.
Toke the card out, thinking something was very wrong on my up-until-now-rock-solid core i7 with GTX570 SLI with a Gigabyte Assasin motherboard, put the X-Fi back in and so far, 2 hours of Borderlands 2, no BSOD at all, battlefield 3 runs like always, no freezes, no more sound repeating.
There is something definetly wrong on the drivers. No soundcard driver should ever freeze a Windows 7 PC, specially for the fact the microsoft explicitly disabled hardware acceleration and forced everyone to pass on audio to windows to try and finish off this kinds of problems, the same architecture of Windows 7 kernel should avoid this kinds of issues, so, ASUS is doing something wrong with the drivers.
Will try the latest beta drivers and report back to you guys if you want, I hope it's fixed in the last one, i do not want to say bad things about a product as expensive and premium as this, but, I do not like this kinds of bugs either.
