Will this monitor work for FPS gaming?

Newegg has this on sale for $89.99 after promo code EMCNEJB44 and I'm wondering if this monitor is suitable for games like Battlefield 3. I plan on purchasing this monitor for my brother since it meets our budget; he doesn't need built-in speakers, or HDMI, or even 1080p resolution. Downside is it uses CCFL bulbs and not an LED backlight..

I'm concerned about ghosting, but is that still a problem nowadays with newer monitors?

If anyone has any recommendations for better monitors in a similar price range, please let me know!

That monitor is fine. Don't be confused with all of these response times. 5ms is great for playing games, and I very highly doubt your brother will notice the difference between 5ms and something like 2ms.

I have an old 1600x900 monitor that is 5ms (made by ASUS), and it was a great little monitor when I used it. Now, I just use it as my icon-junk screen.

I will, however, recommend you another monitor. It's basically the same monitor you listed, but it's 1920x1080. The promo code also applies to this monitor

-EDIT- the promo code differs in one digit, so it's EMCNEJB45

I have the G23H and I love it. The G125H is the same as mine, just 2" smaller. I defiantly recommend it. Like said before, MS response times dont mean too much. I hardly notice a difference between my current 5ms and my old dell, with a 30+ ms
