My old opty hit 2.5ghz, Prime and memtest stable.

2.5 ghz is a low overclock for a 165. If you take your time and learn about what you're doing, you'll most likely get much further. That CCBWE should be an even better chip, so follow the OCing guides on this website. Once you've studied the guides, I would be shocked if either chip crapped out a 2.5gz. I simply don't think it's possible if your settings are correct and you have adequate cooling.

Most of that stepping reach 2.7ish GHz max.

To get help on DFI MoBo it's IMPERATIVE that you give us ALL of your ram settings in the BIOS. If you use auto you'll likely get a crappy overclock as you're seeing.

Alright. I ran memtest on both sticks last night. I think they are both in the orange slots I'll have to double check. My bio has been flashed.

Both were at 1300% or higher with 0 errors. I'll try running memtest from the bios with one stick only also.

Both ram dimms are in the orange slots, and also all four power connectors are secure.

DRAM Config:

DRAM Frequency Mhz: By Dran SPD Value
Command Per Clock: Auto
Cas Latency Control: Atuo
RAS# to CAS#: Auto
Min RAS# active time: Auto

1T
2-3-2-5
DDR 401

Need any other values/ what should I change those auto's too?

On a DFI motherboard you have about 20-30 settings for ram. Those are the big important ones that NEED to be set manually or your OCs tend to suck.

(The CPU and Board are both highly reccomended I think I'm just having a personal prob.)

Can someone give me their values for their ram settings so I can try out some known to work. I'm can't remember how to change the values I.E. what corresponds to 2-3-2-5.

Thanks.

DFI is a little odd...
Your known settings of CAS2-3-2-5 will be in order from top to bottom CAS2-3-5-2 in the BIOS.
Compare the CAS, RAS to CAS, RAS, TRAS, etc in CPU-Z to the BIOS.

One other thought. When I started ocing mine I was used to Bumping voltage along with higher fsb from ocing 3200's and 3700's. Well sorta same prob until i dropped my voltage down to 1.35...then slight increases as needed but not needed much. I'm at 2.8+ @ 1.375. I didn't need the extra until the 2.74 level
