[ZDNET] Linux Mint 13 release candidate arrives - Page 5

I love Mint, can't wait to download it.

I like Cinnamon but I'm wondering whether it will drain my laptops battery faster than Maya due to it requiring 3D acceleration.

Can anyone give a short list of changes that have been made in 13?

What would be the difference of going with Mint vs. "Plain" Ubuntu?

No harm in trying especially if you boot of a CD or flash drive

Mint has all softwares you need out of the box while Ubuntu is missing some stuff, it doesn't have unity crap but a nice green theme with MATE/Cinnamon UI's.
There must be other differences but I don't really know ; that said the standard Mint edition is built upon Ubuntu, you can also go for Mint Debian or Mint XFCE.
