Which current phone would you buy?

Thread Starter
With the S3 on the distant horizon and Verizon only getting the dual core version I don't really care to wait for it.

I do not want an iPhone. Verizon doesn't offer any good windows phones. I inquired about the Lumia and they had nothing in the system regarding it so I guess it would be a long way off if ever.

Right now I'm currently looking at the Razr Maxx. I've been reading good things about it and am wondering if anyone knows of any flaws it has before I go buy it tomorrow.

I'm currently using an original HTC Incredible and it's been incredible but it's age is showing. It's starting to do funny things that are very inconvenient. Locking up while trying to make important calls and not even telling me I'm getting texts or emails anymore is getting annoying. Time to move on.

Ideas?

If I could buy it, I'd get the Galaxy Nexus.

(lol) The Galaxy Nexus that I tested out had okay battery life, but when it was put to the test on a couple beta games it showed its lag. Even when you put on the standard nexus live wallpaper and scroll through the different screen tabs you can see lag between the screens from Stock. I didn't have a chance to Root it, but I said to myself why Root it if it lags from scrolling. I am currently with Sprint and will transfer over to T-Mobile to get the SGS3 quad core edition in the US because what I heard was that Tegra 3 ain't coming out till later Q4 '12 or Q1 '13 for smartphone s.

To answer your question, I think the Razer Maxx is one of the top phones now to consider that the HTC One X just came out. Best of luck

What's your budget?

I'm hearing really good things about the HTC One S and the Galaxy S Blaze 4G (which will be getting an ICS update) from T-mobile

Samsung Galaxy S3.

Definitely the Razr Maxx. I tried the Galaxy Nexus, and it was buggy and had poor battery life- plus the Verizon version seems like the stepchild compared to the GSM version. I'm loving the Maxx, best battery life of any smartphone I've had.

I just bought a Galaxy Nexus... but I got the GSM version... I did a little writeup on it on the forums, feel free to read it for all my experiences with it...

Not sure how the Verizon version compares with what some folks up there said, Because mine has no lag, No slowdown, and its the smoothest best smartphone i've owned so far..... So far none of the games I've played have had any issues, and i picked a few that have really good graphics, The battery life isnt "ooh amazing" like a Razr Maxx, One X LTE or iPhone 4S but its not "horrible" I can use my phone and not worry about killing it.... OH and i can always you know, Swap the battery if it starts going flat...

On Verizon Itd be a close call between the Galaxy Nexus or the RAZR Maxx for me personally, I adore my Nexus... the RAZR Maxx would be tempting only because of the battery in the thing and the fact i have Verizon LTE in my area which is a HUGE battery drain... but I prefer stock ICS to skins... so yeah...

Oh and just a heads up, the S3 on Verizon is using the Snapdragon S4 processor last i checked, Which is pretty much the best phone processor out there period, Number of cores means ****, What the cores can do matters, and the S4 is a more power efficient processor that is just as potent as anything quad out there unless you use your phone for nothing but looking at benchmarks....

Have you tried the One X? If you have then you would know that it also experiences lag when using Live Wallpapers.

Nexus is incredibly smooth if you don't use the live wallpaper and is the most customizable phone out currently. Don't judge a phone based on off your 30seconds
of use at a Verizon store and then recommend a phone you've yet to try.

And I'm sorry, but if all you care about, in making decisions about technology in life, is based on gaming then I don't see how
you're advice applies to the TC who mentioned nothing about gaming or even to users who wants to do real life things.

Rezound is great, Nexus is great (but Verizon is SHAFTING it with updates...), but seriously, the dual core S3 will still do lots of kicking and name taking. I'm holding out for it.
