If you do have a pair, then you already know what card to be looking at if you want HQ sound.

Actually the G1 series has been known for integrating sound cards into motherboards, like they really did that with the original G1 series, this time they are basically putting a Core3D sound card on the board, but Core3D has very little components, you should have seen the G1.Assassin X58 board's integrated audio.

I have a Sniper 3 coming in the mail soon. Just wanting to try out a 1155 Gigabyte board using all my other components. I liked the GA-990XA-UD3 in my gf's rig.

So what would be a better audio card to use- the integrated on this board or a Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional? Just for general usage, gaming and listening to MP3s and very rarely FLAC or anything like that. 95% of the time going to Audio Technica ATH-AD700 and 5% of the time going to Swan M10 speakers.

And a little confused on the BIOS terminology.

What's the difference between "CPU VTT" and "IMC"? I was used to VCCIO and VCSSA. For running higher frequency memory it's CPU VTT that helps out or is it IMC voltage? Or a combination of both? Perhaps a little better explanation on each one would help me out.

I'm not a sound guru by any means but its as good if not better than my gamer card. But then again i guess it depends on what you need.

VCCIO is CPU Vtt or QPI - it can be rised to help with high memory overclocking. VCCSA is IMC - it can help with memory and or BCLK overclocking when under LN2. I have yet seen either of these make any diffrence in overclocking as well as CPU PLL. Main oc voltage to use on the sniper 3 is Vcore or DVID offset with ever you choose to use.

any decent sound card will beat the integrated sound on pretty much every motherboard out there. If you are gaming oriented, then definitely look into the creative cards, but don't wast your money on anything labeled "Fatal1ty". You will literally be pissing away money for a name. Just get your hands on a Creative Titanium card, it is the EXACT same as the Fatal1ty card but for cheaper. Just make sure to spend a little money on the card and you wont be sorry.

As for the bios terminology I can't really explain what each is too well, but I can tell you the ones you will be tweaking are just a few unless you plan on really pushing your chip. The vCore, the PTT, and your multiplier are the big ones. Actually you should be able to reach 4.5 with just tweaks to the multi and vCore.

just raise the multi to like 42 and then run tests (if your cooling can handle it) and then bump it up one multi at a time till it BSOD's, then raise the vcore a bit, and repeat until you reach your limit on voltage (wont happen), temps, or your goal

Ah heck with you having the H100 I would go for a multi of 45, vcore set about 1.260v unless you want to use DVID, then normal Vcore and a dvid of about +15 and llc set to turbo. all other settings set to auto...and work from there. Just my 2 cents...
