so your saying its not xpress recovery2 that has taken up so much space? I did not do a clean install I simply moved my ssd over from old rig, and had twice as much free space before I moved over. I can't think of any thing else that could have taken up that much space. I installed acronis true image 2013 but it does the back up to an external drive, so I'm baffled. I have run cccleaner and deleted all temp files and such. would perhaps xpress recovery2 create a "hidden" file on C? I ask as reading about it, it says it ONLY backs up the main partition and it places the backup at the end of said partition, but I do not see it.

yea I have the same issue, but I never install from a CD, it only happens also with small partitions, i think it has something to do with a large page file or hibernation feature.

Maybe someone here can help me. I'm having an issue where when my video card(s) are under load a high pitched electrical noise can be heard and I've confirmed that it is the motherboard. I was hoping to try playing with the PCI-E voltage in the BIOS to see if I could get it to go away but I can't seem to find that option (I Had it on my GA-X58-UD5....) in these new BIOS (I'm running F9 btw)

Before everyone goes off on telling me to test my video cards yada yada yada... I've used 3 different motherboards, 5 different video cards, 5 different power supplies, and even different cables where possible. The only combination(s) that produced the noise were the ones using this motherboard and sadly after receiving an advanced replacement from Gigabyte, the replacement does the same thing but 5x worse and also has static on the audio out channel x_x

My specs are as follows (If you need the rest let me know I only mentioned what I thought was relevant)
CPU: i7 3770s
GPU: AMD HD 7850
PSU: Corsair AX650
Power Draw Under Load: 129-138W (Running just F@H) measured by my UPS

Any help is greatly appreciated as this noise is DRIVING ME INSANE!

That is what I initially thought, but as I mentioned in my post I tested this with FIVE different video cards, FIVE different power supplies and THREE different motherboards. The noise did not occur on ANY of the five cards on any of the other motherboards with any of the power supplies. ONLY did it happen on THIS motherboard. Five cards and five power supplies make no noise on Mobo 1&2 but on #3 ? It is the motherboard trust me, I've been dealing with this issue for well over 2 months before I tried an RMA with gigabyte. Also note that as I stated the replacement motherboard has the same issue but like 5x worse....

here is an ood one, well for me being first time builder its odd. I install software for the killer nic, it now works after install and ticking ENABLE in bios LAN #1

but here is the odd thing I can't figure out. from the time pc boots up (even before bios shows) the on board speaker BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZ constant, no beep, just constant buzz. , I can't figure out why its doing this. has me stumped and actually very frustrated. , can anyone help me with this? I REALLY want to use the killer nic not intel. when I use intel nic no buzzz. ... BIZARRE mad.gif

Hi All,

I have just upgraded from a Gigabyte X58 UD7 rev 2 / I7 950 / 6 Blackline Mushkin Ram to Gigabyte G1 Sniper M3 / I7 3770K / G Skills ram.

I have updated the sniper to the latest bios F9 and can't even run my ram at 1600 using them XMP profile.

it just keeps giving me errors and restarting back to default settings.

I have a raid card installed in my last rig and now this rig (areca 1220) now the card has its own firmware which needs to be ready in the X58 it took additional 12 sec for the card to get ready and now in the sniper it takes additional 27 sec to get ready which is quite annoying.

does anyone else have raid card installed.

ram = G Skills ripjaw 1600Mhz (waiting for my RMA'd Trident X)

any help and advice appreciated.

Thanks

Hello! I'm moments away from finally firing my G1 sniper 3 up. As a first timer, is there anything I should know? My intent is to just look around the BIOS and make sure everything is ok, ( windows install later)..I just want to see it come on and know that I did ok.. Is there anything in particular I need to do/? thanks in advance

Hi I have a problem and I don't know the answer. When I put my pc on every thing is "working" and all the lights of the fans and power button start to flash (on and off ect) for 10/ 20 sec and than it reboots itself without showing the biosscreen or a post message on the motherboard and the same thing happens again. I force the pc to go out and try it again and sometimes the pc just starts and nothing is wrong. I tried using 1 graphic card and that solves the problem. But I want to use 2 cards in CF. My specs are:

Gigabyte G1 Sniper 3
I7 3770K
Samsung 830 256gb
Corsair Vengeance 16 GB, PC3-15000, 1866 MHz, 9, Non-ECC, Kit Of 4
2x MSI HD6870 hawk in crossfire (that isn't working)

This problem was right out of the box with bios F4 and I am running F7 now.

I'd keep everything stock for the most part for installing windows, maybe set the RAM to it's default settings, but other than that I would make sure you get a nice clean install of Windows before messing with anything.

And I don't want it to look like I'm ignoring you, I just don't know anything about CF really. I'd go into the CF forums and see if it's a common troubleshooting problem.
