Gigabyte G1. Sniper 5/5M/3/M3 Owners Thread/Club - Page 50

Anyone have any shots of the G1 Sniper 3 in a Corsair 650D case by any chance? Just want to get an idea of what it would look like in the case before I order it. I basically want to see if I feel that I have enough space to work with, or if I should bite the bullet and get a Corsair 800D for this build. And yes, I know it is only slightly wider than a standard ATX-but space is space smile.gif I am wanting to save the money and use my 650D that is laying around though if it looks good enough smile.gif

Thanks,
Addiction

The biggest issue is that using the last slot completely blocks you from connecting your onboard power/PWR LED/HDD LED if you're using a long graphics card. Gigabyte probably didn't see this flaw originally when they figured that using this method would benefit the user since it gives an open slot spacing between the two cards. On all mATX boards, your cards are bundled together. It also imposes compatibility issues with mATX cases with 4 expansion slots.

Wound up swapping to a MVG because of this. Really didn't want red/black theme again, so overplayed, and the G1 looks amazing...

MVG isn't the only other board like that, basically any other mATX board has the PCI setup how the MVG does...the only other board that has the last slot as the SLI slot is...another GB board lol.

i have the g1 sniper m3 board in the obsidian 650d case, water cooled with fluro green coolant. looks awsome. i wish i had save the extra cash and got the sniper 3 board. i think it would look awsome in the 650d and the corsair case is very good quality. youll have a lot of space and specially if your going to go water cooled.

Power saving features enabled in the BIOS? Do you have processor minimum state @ 5% in Windows?

the other day (2 days ago) when I was building my pc , and when i was finally done, I hit the power buttom I heard a POP sound and than something smell like it was burning (short circuit smell) I unpluged the pc and started looking where the smell was coming from, could not find it. I turned the pc on and everything was working fine after that. is this something to worry about? everything is working fine.

It might have been a capacitor. Check all of the capacitors in your system; if any look to have been popped, then you need to replace the motherboard, otherwise it could be damaging components.
