I hope I am allowed to join this club you guys got going here.
I have been thinking about getting this board for like 6 months now.
I am glad I finally did. I will be posting a build log on here of what I am doing and I will post a link in this thread if y'all don't mind so you can take a gander.
I have to deal with the learning curve of forums and build logs first though. *Snip* (Click to show)

I sent my AeroCool Strike-X ST off to powder coating on Saturday, Hopefully getting it back today and I'll rivet it back together & start my build log.

Good to know you are already learning around here! Also, you should definitely do a build log. thumb.gif Build logs are fun ways to inform the community and learn along the way!
I myself am getting ready to start one with my G1 Sniper 3/CaseLabs SM8, doing a full water build. Keep an eye out for it within a week or so. tongue.gif By the way, are you putting your new rig Snorkle.gif ? Or are you going Air? Should be fun for your either way, and good luck! Let me/us know if you need any help, and feel free to PM if you need to.

XD. LOL. give it some time man.
I will be replacing it hopefully with a custom water loop but for the time being once I get it in my EV3RGR3EN case ill be putting my H100 back in.
Truth is I really didn't feel like messing with the paste. It was late @ night and I was excited to get my Sniper goin with the new 3770k in it so I stuck the stock fan in booted up. Also I only have like 5/9 screws, screwed into the proper standoffs.
Probably not a good idea to do that?
Let me know what your take is on that last one guys.

That is correct sir. Just start the build log in this subforum (since you are doing intel) Intel Build Logs.

As far as your planned loop, take your time, research etc. My rig will have my spare H100 in it while im ordering parts/planning how to go about my loop/wiring etc. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you are happy with what you have that is all that matters.

As for the standoffs question, as long as you do not have ones in the wrong spot (read: possible grounding in areas not meant to be grounded - i.e. short out your board) you should be OK as far as I know with a couple less, but if it was me personally I would have all 9/9 in for stability/safety reasons. Just my 2cents.gif. Let me know if you have any other questions, and keep up the good work. Hope this helps. thumb.gif

Quick question.
I see my CPU fan changes speed between 900 and 1200 rpm's.
If I wanted it to stay on full speed all the time where in the bios do I set it?
Right now I see information about cpu speed I don't understand.

Thanks
Iggy

Setting it to manual fan control in the BIOS will probably set it to max constantly. You could just plug it directly into a molex connector, though. There's also a controller in the OS.

Molex connected may be the for sure answer for max speed

In BIOS if you go into the 3D mode you can find Fan controls there.

Once in there Select the CPU fan.

Disabled will turn off any kind of predetermined slope.
i.e. Lower Temps = Lower Fan Speeds, Higher Temps = Higher Fan Speeds

Plugging it into a Molex directly will also fix this.
The downside to this is you won't receive any warnings if the fan fails in your OS.
Even in BIOS you will not know the speed of the fan if it is plug into a molex.

Anyone: Correct me if I am wrong on any of this.

Hi i have a 2 issues:

my build:
Code:
| i7 3770k | Noctua NH-D14 | Gigabyte G1 Sniper 3 |
| Kingston HyperX Series 16GB(4x4) 2133MHZ | OCZ Vertex 4 128GB |
| Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black | Asus GTX680 DC2T | CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 800W |

After building the rig ive started the pc it turn out ive have missmatched some cables fix that and after that was fine, now ive installed win 7 on the ssd and putted the missing drivers and after doing that wanted to go to the bios i couldnt coz no bios logo screen showed up meaning power pc >black screen 1sek > windows starts, tryed hitting del button, f2, notthing worked, i reseted te cmos after that it will give the 3 messages for load optimized and enter bios, ive updated the bios was F4 now its F7 and again black screen >windows, after reseting cmos ive turn of the int graphic again didnt work any1 can help on that?

Also today new issue i power on the pc and screen is black, and getting A9 code - Bios Setup is started, but i dont get anything, tryed to reset the cmos again getting black screen and A9.Ive also tryed switching to the backup bios and it gave me A6?

Any1 can help me to fix this issues?

Latest bios is f9 update
Remove ALL unneeded hardware and reformat one drive with OS.
Start with only one stick of RAM
Install MB drivers ASAP after getting OS running.
That is what I would try

Good luck
