Gigabyte G1. Sniper 5/5M/3/M3 Owners Thread/Club - Page 64

Are you using LLC at all? Set it to Turbo.

0.05v of difference is most likely because you didn't use LLC. Some boards set LLC on very high/Turbo by default, but that's not how GB boards work.

Z77 FTW has better mosfets BTW but chocks that it uses limits their maximum capability.

I have llc set to auto. I'm still trying to figure out how GB goes about with their bios redface.gif. One thing i give GB is that i can adjust the bclk, which was non-existing (and I think it still is, ?) on the EVGA. Had no idea the mosfets were better then the GB thinking.gif.

Gigabyte UP boards use the same mosfets (IR3550) as on Z77 FTW. But UP boards use custom made chocks that allow allow full use of those mosfets unlike Z77 FTW.

UD boards (G1 Sniper included) are a step down, but they are still good boards smile.gif. More than enough for air/water overclocking. They do a fine job with LN2 too.

Auto on these boards = normal from my experience.

UP boards seem fantastic but for the price of the up7, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up the MVE for slightly less smile.gif

Well, I ordered my m3 yesterday, hopefully I will have some time to put together my little build this weekend.

Anyone know why my Profile 2 under XMP won't come up in the Advanced Frequency Settings? It shows Disabled and Profile 1. I can't get my computer to show Profile 2 or to boot at 2666MHz. I am running the G1. Sniper 3 mobo, Corsair Dominator Platinum 2666MHz (2x4GB) ram and Intel i7 3770K Ivy Bridge CPU. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You could just enter the specs manually. For some reason the XMP on my memory for this board said it was at 1.65 volts when the box listed the RAM at 1.5; I just entered it in manually and it was fine.

Thanks, I've been trying that but the system doesn't want to boot and let me run the 2666MHz. Not sure if the motherboard is having compatibility issues with the ram or what's going on.

Your processor's IMC might not be able to handle that frequency.
