I might have looked to quick through the previous posts between yours and mine, and someone might have already answered your question.
But here is my answer either way.
On Gigabytes website it does NOT
mention decreased bandwidth on the 2-PCI-e X16 slots when one or both x1's are taken up. As you can see here:
Compliments to Gigabyte and Windows Snipping Tool
And compliments to Newegg for this picture:
And as you can see in that picture
The Bluetooth/WiFi card uses the X1 Slot.
So in conclusion as long as you put this WiFi card in one of the X1 slot's circled in red in this photo:
The Bandwidth for your X16 slots should be fine.
When you start putting cards in your X8 Slots as seen here:
it is then that your bandwidth on your x16's is cut.
For me it was easier to understand by looking at the back of the board instead of the front.
When talking about your question the expansion slots circled in orange have nothing to do with the ones circled in Green:
And the Second orange one down would most likely be the optimal x1 to put your WiFi card in, because of dual expansion slot graphics cards.
Im not trying to be mean.
I am just trying to be thorough enough just in case this helps you
or anyone else
out down the road.Edited by ACMH-K - 1/1/13 at 8:28pm
