Gigabyte G1. Sniper 5/5M/3/M3 Owners Thread/Club - Page 71

Back again,

Basically, I can boot into windows fine, but my GPU is giving me no video output, even with I default it to PEG and setting PCI to gen 2 as I have a 2500k. Bios version is 10c and the card is a 7970, I don't have another computer handy (although I could rebuild in my switch, but that would take a couple hours). I can't even detect the 7970 in device manager or bios. I am not getting the 1 long 2 short beep code except on some soft reboots. Moved ram from the black slots to green.

Any help at this point would be great...

Try your GPU in another system. That is the only thing I can think of.

i updated bios and droped my volts down to 1.35 total and in stress i am peaking at 80c

idle i am at 46c

Updated bios to f7 droped vcore to 1.25 and pulling 75c in prime about a 15c drop going to run and pick up a h100 and hopefully it will drop temps even more. or anyone got other ideas for a better all in one water cooler? we have a local best buy and micro center about an hour away

Idle seems a tad high. I do actually keep SpeedStep on to help w/ idle. It cuts down my clocks to ~1600. I've never had any issues with speedstep so I don't quite understand why ppl say to disable it. It may cause instability with higher clocks but I've had no issues with 4.7


Its really difficult to rate your temps but I have a feeling its a bit high. I know IB is a bit hotter then SB and your H60 doesn't compare to a full custom water loop, but its just that it still seems high to me.

Have you tried a new tim and the stock cooler like I suggested?

Some chips will need a bit of voltage for stability. 1.3v for 4.5 is actually pretty good. Some will take more less. In auto voltage, of my old p67, z68, and z77 boards, its usually ~1.2-1.325v depending on the cpu and mb.

Hey, has anyone turned their SATA ports to RAID mode and had the motherboard splash screen only show up for a second as a result of it being on? Is there a way to fix this? It's a little annoying.
