there was a build log with one in it. I think it was called green machine or something.

I saw that (cool machine) but it makes no mention if he had to mod anything to get it to fit . I emailed Cooler Master and they said no (as does PCPartspicker) but I've seen a few pics of it in the XB . Just wish to confirm before spending any money .

thanks for the help . This will be my first build so am double and triple checking everything to avoid a doh moment .

it does fit. Its standard atx and so is the xb thumb.gif

edit: here's a Fatality Pro x79, same size as the Sniper.3:

double edit: here's another member who got a Rampage IV Extreme in there:

This is an E-Atx board which is slightly wider then a standard ATX.

That's a standard ATX board there, you can tell how wide it is by how far it extends past the screws, and that one ends right at the screws.

The Sniper 3 isn't actually EATX, it's just a bit less than an inch wider than ATX; EATX is significantly wider than that.

You're correct sir thumb.gif Hmmmm...I do recall its called CEB: (ATX ~9.6", CEB > 9.6 & < 10.5, E-ATX > 10.5.

Asrock x79: 12x9.6
Sniper3 12x10.4
RIVe: 12-10.7

edit: I never actually took some time to see that the sniper is CEB factor biggrin.gif

Well, it's almost the exact same size as a CEB board, but it has different mounting holes.

EATX is 13" wide, so none of these motherboards are actually EATX, they are just wide ATX.

wiki has atx from 9.6 -10"
ceb 10.5"
etx @ 13"

Created by the Server System Infrastructure (SSI) forum. Derived from the EEB and ATX specifications. This means that SSI CEB motherboards have the same mounting holes and the same IO connector area as ATX motherboards.

So what do we call them, ? ATX is fine for me thumb.gif. Bottom line, if a guy was able to stuff the RIVE into the XB, the Sniper shouldn't have any issues.
