Gigabyte G1. Sniper 5/5M/3/M3 Owners Thread/Club - Page 10

You're not the only one. I have dual 690's with the exact same problem. Although i found a temporary solution until a bug fix. Select PCIe 2,3 or 4 as primary from bios and try again.

BTW Code A6????? you mean Ab right?

Also the GPu select thing, does it matter which card you plug into? I am guessing it isn't defaulting to the card you are plugged into and that is causing you not to get video out.

Thanks. That fixed it. It took me all day to figure that one out.thumb.gif

Now that I'm able to access the BIOS, I'm getting abnormally low 3DMark11 scores with my 3770k clocked to 4.4GHz. I'm only scoring ~7000 and I should be scoring well >11,000 (remember, I have Tri-crossfire 6950s flashed to 6970s).frown.gif

Clean install of Win7 in my future?

clean install or your CPu is bottlenecking. Your scores should be much higher. You try re-install drivers?

Yeah, I have waaaay too much crap running in the background. I think I need to do a clean install. I shutdown a ton of crap from the Task Mgr and scored P12520. Luckily most of my important stuff are Steam based games anyways.tongue.gif

Ab sorry yes. As for the cards, yes it probably does. And plugging your monitor to another dvi port matter as well. Go figure!

I'm a little disappointed at Gigabyte to tell you the truth. I spend my whole day to find out a temporary solution for a Motherboard that costs greatly from a experienced manufacturer .

OK, now I'm trying to get 4.5GHz stable. Anyone have some suggestions as to what I can turn off in the "Advanced CPU Core Features" section for a more stable overclock? (or just generally for a more stable overclock). It looks like my 3770k just isn't going to hack it @ 4.5GHz (seems to run well @ 4.4GHz tho).

I went from a Cooler Master Storm Trooper / MSI 067a-GD65 to a Silverstone TJ08 / Sniper m3.

I am very, very happy with the build, However!:

The Sniper m3 is not playing nice with the OC at all. With the GD65 and same 2600k I could get 4.8ghz without a hassle.

With the Sniper m3 I have yet to get 4.5ghz stable.

Tried as high as 1.41 Vcore and +.5 to VTT/PLL and I still bluescreen running prime less than 15 minutes (sometimes less than 5).

Temps are good, computer has been fully stable OC aside, but I am at a loss as to where to go with this.

I have EIST/C1E/etc all disabled, turbo boost off, core clock @ 45.

Another oddity,

I set everything back to default, went in and changed the Turbo boost to 40 for 1/2/3/4 and when I go back in to windows it's like Turbo Boost is disabled (stays at 3.4). Set 1/2/3/4 back to auto and it turbo boosts to 3.8 mad.gif
